Welcome to the 2020 Golf season at Williston Golf Club. During this unprecedented time our first priority is the health and safety of our staff, members, guests and our state and local communities.
As our staff and management prepared for the 2020 season, we have watched carefully the progress of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We have monitored closely the recommendations and precautionary measures of the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control and our state & local officials. We feel that given the nature of the sport of golf amidst wide open spaces, and with rigid protocols in place, the game can continue to be played, keeping both golfers and employees safe from the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
A number of precautionary measures have been put in place to ensure that everyone will stay safe. Our Club’s Play Smart - Play Safe Guidelines have been adapted from our regions allied golf association best practice recommendations as well as requirements per the State of Vermont. Everyone’s safety will rely on the full cooperation of golfers and our team members from the time we arrive at the facility until the time we leave.
We have implemented a number of safety measures including training our staff on enhanced cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing procedures. We have reduced the number of touch points a person would usually come in contact with. We kindly ask for your assistance in ensuring our members, guests and staff health by your commitment to full cooperation, understanding and adherence to our policies and procedures.
While we do hope that our environment will return to normal, for now, this mode of operation will become the new normal. We suggest that every golfer make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to golf during these times or not.
If you have underlying medical conditions, it is recommended that you not visit our facility. Please do not come to the Williston Golf Club if you don’t feel well, or if you are showing symptoms of COVID19, and if you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID19.
Physical Distancing should be practiced (minimum 6ft apart) from arrival until departure.
Following the recommendations of the government, we encourage all players to wear a mask or some face covering when entering the Clubhouse or any time that you may potentially come in close contact with another person.

Due to high demand and limited supply we ask for your consideration in providing us with accurate reservations that include the correct number of players:

Dine Smart–Dine Safe Guidelines
As adapted from The State of Vermont ACCD Restaurant Sector Restart Requirements and Guidelines:
- Tables, spaced 10 feet apart, will be available on The Front Deck. Each Table has two dedicated Chairs. A maximum of two people will be permitted to sit at each table at a time.
- Single Lawn Chairs and Adirondack Chairs, spaced 6 feet apart, will be offered on the Blue Stone Patio and Greenside Lawn. Tables will not be provided in this area.
- All Furniture will be sanitized after each use.
- You may order your food or beverages at the Restaurant Counter and Take-Out to Outdoor Areas. In person WGC Staff delivery service will not be provided.
- The State Guidelines require that reservations or call ahead seating occur. Additionally, a customer log must be maintained and easily accessible, for contact tracing purposes, for 30 days. We will meet these requirements by utilizing our detailed Pro Shop Tee-Sheet. It includes names, contact info, time of arrival and time of departure for every player on a daily basis. All players that visit WGC for the day are invited to patronize our restaurant and most players do! Therefore, it will be implied that each daily player, upon reserving a tee time, is also reserving usage of the Outdoor Dining Areas.
- A maximum outside occupancy capacity of 32 people will be allowed. On a normal day it is unusual that we are serving / seating more than 12 to 16 people at a time. Under the current, 15 min. tee time interval scenario, it will be very unusual that more than 16 people will be using the Outside Dining Areas at the same time. We do not expect a large gathering of people will occur.
- Tables and Chairs have been arranged apart from each other to meet required distances. The floors have been marked to indicate where each piece of furniture must stay. Please do not rearrange the placement of the tables and chairs.
On the Course:
Please practice Physical Distancing at all times, especially on or around the tee areas and putting greens.
Garbage and Recycle Cans are located around the Clubhouse and Cart Return Area. Please reserve your trash and deposit it at those locations. Please do not discard garbage on the ground!
Commonly used items and touch points have been removed such as Bunker Rakes, Water Stations, Ball Washers, Benches and Penalty Area Stakes.
Flagstick must remain in the hole. Please do not touch Flagsticks or the Foam Hole Filling.
If your ball comes to rest in the Bunker – You may play it as it lies or lift, clean, smooth Bunker Sand with your foot and replace the ball.
Each hole had been lined with foam to prevent your ball from going completely in the hole. A Putt is considered holed if it hits the cup and comes to rest within 12 inches of the cup.
Please make a quick pit stop, no longer than 5 minutes, at the turn to use restrooms and purchase
Grab ‘n Go Food and Beverages to take out on the course.
Please go directly from your last hole to the parking lot and prepare to leave the facility without delay.
Food and Beverage Take Out Service will not be offered to players after golf.
After use of a Golf Cart we ask that you return it to the Dirty Cart Drop Off Area and kindly remove ALL garbage and recyclables and dispense them in canisters as provided.
Extended delay of leaving the Parking Lot and Clubhouse Premise is not permitted. Congregating or Tailgating is simply inappropriate and is clearly addressed as a prohibited activity within the Vermont ACCD Outdoor Recreation Sector Guidelines. Staff will monitor and strictly enforce this policy. We feel lack of adherence to this portion of the States issued guidance could lead to and unsafe environment and further disruption of our business operations. BYOB is Prohibited.
An appropriate length of time to pack up gear and say farewell to your playing partners can be measured using this general Rule of Thumb: – If the group that played behind you has completed their round and you are still here……. Then you may have stayed too long!
The GHIN Handicap Computer is closed. You can post your scores using the GHIN App on your phone or on line at GHIN.Com. Our Staff can also post your score for you if needed. Simply ask one of them to post it and they will be happy to accommodate the request!
Thank you in advance for your effort and willingness to adhere to our Play Smart – Play Safe Guidelines.
We will continually keep you updated and informed in an effort to assist you in understanding the Guidelines that are now established and if/when they are modified.
We understand that these are significant changes to your normal golf experience. Adjusting to what is now recommended and required to occur before, during and after playing golf may take practice and relearning how to best navigate through your day of golf.
Williston Golf Club Staff will closely monitor daily operations and activities before, during and after golf. Initially we will enforce adherence to Guidelines in a friendly fashion by offering reminders and clarifications to provide you a better understanding of the guidelines are and how they may be more closely adhered to. Please contact our staff with any questions, concerns or suggestions on how we may serve you.
Our goal is to help you enjoy your time at The Williston Golf Club and provide a safe recreational environment for all. Anyone that continually demonstrates lack of adherence or egregiously fails to comply with guidelines will be asked to leave the property and may be suspended from future play.
